Geyushi Automotive Leads Egypt’s Green Transport Revolution with Locally Manufactured Electric Buses

Geyushi Automotive Industry welcomed a high-level delegation from the World Bank, the Ministry of Environment and the Egyptian National Council for Climate Change at its manufacturing facilities, as part of the joint cooperation under the national project for supplying 100 locally manufactured electric buses and establishing the required charging infrastructure across Egypt; awarded to Geyushi in early 2025.

This strategic project represents a key milestone in advancing sustainable public transportation and transitioning to clean energy, in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030 and the national agenda to reduce carbon emissions and promote local manufacturing.

In the same context, Engineer Mohamed Hassan, Director of the Climate Office, stated that the Egyptian government is giving great attention to this project, which will make Egypt a beacon for other African and Middle Eastern countries in the transition toward clean, green energy. He added that, following the anticipated success of this project in improving the standard of public transportation for citizens, Egyptian companies could become the main suppliers of fully electric public transport buses.

He continued by noting that Geyushi’s success in winning the tender for the supply of 100 electric buses served as a strong incentive for Egyptian ministries to have confidence in launching a new tender. He also emphasized that Lieutenant General Kamel El-Wazir, Minister of Transport and Local Development, is giving great attention to this project as part of his vision and efforts to drive Egyptian companies toward development and production.

Mr. Nobuhilo Daito, representing the World Bank, explained that although there were initially many concerns surrounding this project, all parties ultimately agreed that Geyushi possesses the capability and talent, combined with outstanding expertise, and therefore they have full confidence in the project’s success.

The visit highlights Geyushi’s continuous role as an active partner in supporting Egypt’s green transition and localizing electric mobility technologies, contributing to sustainable economic development and job creation.
